Our history
Our journey began in 2008 when founder Dennis Chapman established a technology incubator in Christchurch, dedicated to energy efficiency and smart home automation. Over the following decade, his team pioneered innovative prototype homes integrated with cutting-edge, energy-saving products. In 2020, this foundation attracted a team of industry experts who recognised a distinct lack of advanced technology within the traditional electricity sector. From this powerful alignment, Nexbe was born.
Our expertise
As New Zealand's only domestic designer and manufacturer of smart metering solutions, we merge deep expertise in power electronics, information technology, and energy markets to deliver much-needed innovation to the industry. We are a registered Metering Equipment Provider (NEXB) regulated by the New Zealand Electricity Authority, providing state-of-the-art Advanced Metering Systems.
