Network Load Control

Network Load Control

The Nexbe metering designs lend themselves to various network operator support functions to reduce peak capacity constraints and minimise network disruption times.

A suite of DR initiatives are available for direct software push-command directly to the metering device on a cluster-based appliance-level-of-use - by transformer connectivity groupings and/or individual streel level demand response, including the graduated re-connection of dwellings following outages.

Example: Unscheduled black start support

The NV series meters support existing ripple control methods, as well as individual, on demand control across all relays via IoT.

This provides network companies with greater control over the performance of their network.

For example, in the event of an outage, the meter will send a ‘last gasp’ before shutting off. Upon resolution load will be restored after a random backoff period.

In the event of a grid emergency the meter can define and enforce a maximum current per connection. For example, with a 2kW limit in place, usage exceeding this (on a 10 second average) could be disabled for a defined stand down period.

These limits could be set on a per dwelling basis, for example medically dependent customers may have no limit.

(Other scenarios accommodated).
