In 2008, our founder, Dennis Chapman, setup a technology incubator in Christchurch, New Zealand, to focus on energy efficiency and smart home automation. Over the decade that followed his team developed innovative prototype homes packed with their energy saving products.

Fast forward to 2020, this group was joined by a team of inherently curious experts, asking themselves why remarkable technology was virtually absent in the electricity industry. 

With this alignment, Nexbe was born. We combine our expertise in power electronics, information technology and the electricity market to bring a fresh perspective to an industry desperate for innovation.

Now, in 2024, Nexbe is expanding its product footprint across the world with the launch of its smart NV33 Revenue Meter and NV30-CT network meter.

Nexbe is New Zealand’s only smart metering designer and manufacturer.

Nexbe is a registered Meter Equipment Provider to the New Zealand electricity industry, regulated by the Electricity Authority, providing Advanced Metering Systems under participant identifier NEXB.
